Aqua의 Cartoon heroes이다. Aqua는 우리나라의 “거북이”와 뭔가 비슷한 느낌의 그룹이다.

아무튼, 이 곡은 맘에 드는 곡인데, 특히 가사중에 “Be original”이 맘에 든다. 독창적인, 유일한, 고유한 존재가 되라는 뜻인데, 여러모로 의미를 둘 수 있는 부분이다.

쇼펜하우어가 쓴 책이다. 토론에서 중요한 것은 이기는 것이지 진실을 규명하는 것이 아니다.

실체적 진실에 상관 없이, 토론에서 이기는 자의 주장이 진실이 된다. 그렇다면 토론 그 자체를 위한 기술이 필요하다.

상대의 주장을 뭉개고 자신의 주장을 관철시키기 위해 필요한 38가지 실제적인 기술이 이 책에 설명되어 있다.

이 책은 진리에 상관 없이 자신의 주장을 관철시키려는 사람에게만 필요한 책이 아니다. 진실을 지키기 위한 사람에게도 필요하다.

Y염색체는 남자에게만 있다. 따라서 Y염색체를 추적하면 남자들로 이루어진 가계도를 알 수 있다. 그래서 추적해서 찾아낸 “Y염색체 아담”은, 아프리카에 살았었다.

원제는 “Journey of Man”인데, 아무래도 1등만 기억하는 더러운 세상이다보니 “최초의 남자”로 번역서 제목을 지은 것 같다.

“이브의 일곱 딸들”에 이어 인류의 계보도를 추적하는 매우 흥미로운 여행이다. 매우 쉽게 씌여져 있고, 유전학 뿐만 아니라 지리학, 문화학, 언어학, 고고학, 고인류학 등 다양한 분야의 증거들을 함께 결합하여 서술하고 있다.

누구에게나 추천할만한 책이다.
